Ratings After Round 12 Are we moving towards a top-7?

Round 13 2016 FFSS RatingsA great round of football on the weekend lived up to all expectations. GWS, Western Bulldogs and Adelaide winning while Sydney and North lost meant the top FFSS rated teams remain with barely a whisker between them.

However, the poor second half showing of West Coast at Subiaco on Saturday night sees the model begin to second guess it’s rating of the Eagles. They now slide down away from the other teams in the top-8.

Luckily for them, outside of Port Adelaide (who were noble in defeat, creating better quality chances over 4 quarters against the Bulldogs), there appears to still be a very clear drop-off in class to the rest of the comp.

Despite a rousing win against the Pies on the Queen’s Birthday, Melbourne are still rated distinctly below average by the model. They are still far too inconsistent, and a victory over a, frankly terrible, Collingwood is not enough for us to rate them as genuine chances of disturbing the finals.
